Dragons Den Appearance – 10 Years On
Ten years ago, on April 16th 2012 our founder, Paul Jacob, walked into the Dragon’s Den to present his Smart Storage solution to Dragons, Norah Casey, Gavin Duffy, Niall O’Farrell and Sean O’Sullivan. Smart Storage is the answer to every households’ problem “lack of storage space”. Our understairs storage units maximise the unused space beneath the stairs and provide a discreet storage solution.
After a successful pitch to the Dragons, resulting in Norah Casey becoming a Shareholder, Smart Storage has gone from strength to strength and is now the largest provider of understairs storage in the world.
With over 60,000 units installed around the world Smart Storage has proved it has global reach.
The company now employs more than 60 staff and has significantly expanded in Ireland and the UK with Smart Storage understairs storage units now available nationwide in both countries. From 469 units installed at the end of 2011 to over 60,000 units ten years later, we have an ever-growing network of experienced installers working tirelessly to provide a storage solution to suit all our customers needs.
Ten years on from Paul’s pitch, homes have gotten smaller and the pandemic has seen them transition from living spaces to hybrid working/living spaces, further highlighting the need to maximise every inch of available space.
